Changing Seasons…..

So I’m from Chicago. Just in case you haven’t read my bio. If you know anything about Chicago, you know that the weather is bipolar. You could literally experience all seasons within one day or week.

Right now, the temperature in Chicago is in high 60’s. Guys, it’s February and technically the winter time. This is typically the WORST time of the year for Chicagoans. We’ve had terrible snow storms during this time in past years. However, February has been perfect. I’m seriously afraid because it look and feel like summer outside.

What.is.happening?

Global.Warming.

This.is.Trump.fault…Just kidding….

“Weather” the storm……

As I was out and about enjoying the weather, I started to think about how this interesting weather is literally a reflection of my current season. Perfect weather during what should be the worst season of the year. Peace during a storm. Rivers in a dessert/dry season. That’s my current season….

It’s a lot going on in my life right now yet I have peace during the midst of the storm. Just to give you some of the specifics of my current season…..First off, my family experienced a terrible and unexpected loss two weeks ago. We’re grieving over the death of my sweet beloved cousin whose life was taken away from us.  Secondly, I personally have been in a dry season for a while now. God has been teaching me how to rely solely on him. I was ready to hit the rock like Moses several times but I’m determined to see the promise. Ha!

Rivers……

In the midst of grieving and being disciplined, God is presenting me doors of opportunities. I finally got the blogging stuff off the ground with the help of a wonderful business mentor. I NEVER thought I’d start blogging but I am loving it. I also do Periscopes throughout the week. I talk about things like……faith, finance and freedom! 😉

God has also presented me with another door that will possibly set me up to further my education later on down the line. This is one of my goals for this year. I’m excited! His promises are manifesting before my eyes.

Seasons change. God doesn’t.

I want to encourage anyone who’s currently in a tough season. Unexpected things are happening, you feel like you’re wandering, you feel the rod of discipline, etc. Although seasons are changing and things are shifting around you, God does not change. God is with you. He is not moved by fear or chaos. He is moved by faith so trust him.

Be encouraged….

“I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.” – Isaiah 41:18

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:29-31
