Go.See.Do.!

I FINALLY completed my vision board!!! Wait, don’t judge me. I know I’m late. Let me explain…..

Okay, I have no real excuses but I was determined to finish it before February ended.  Now I did have my 2017 goals written down in December 2016 so I’m not completely behind.

Any ways, I finished my board so  I feel inspired to share with you all why I believe in the power of creating a vision board for your written goals.

My vision versus God’s vision…..

I started creating vision boards 4 years ago when I joined a faith-based running club. We created vision boards to plainly write down and identify our “why’s”  and goals for that running season. I thought it was a really cool activity to hold me accountable for not only my running goals but also my long-term goals. However, my first year completing the board, I added some unrealistic items on my board. I didn’t pray about these things, I just added what I wanted to achieve. As a matter of fact, my vision board was in the trunk of my sister’s car for half of the year. I didn’t understand the power of writing things down, making decrees and prophesying to my season. I didn’t have a God inspired vision.

And this happened…….

It wasn’t until my second running season that I decided to let God guide my goal planning. I was at a point in my life where I was tired of letting unfulfilling years go by. I wanted more out of my life, career, relationships, etc. I made God goals and I wanted to be more specific with different areas I wanted to focus on. I hosted a vision board party with my girls and we discussed our goals and  prayed over our vision for the year.

When I tell you guys that almost 90% of the things on my 2015 vision board came to pass. No, seriously. They manifested in ways I did not expect. For example, some of my goals included:

  • Travel (I traveled 75% of the year for work to places I’ve never gone in the U.S.)
  • New job ( I switched career paths! I’ll share that journey in another blog post!)
  • Relationships ( I participated in a forum that really caused me to be more intentional about my relationships!)
  • Health goals (Between the latter part of 2015 and all of 2016 I lost a total of 25-30lbs.)
  • Spiritual goals (My relationship with God grew deeper through many encounters throughout 2015 up until now!)

I decided to use the same board for 2016. I would not recommend doing this. I think you should add on to your current board or create a new one. Every year is different.  God gave me the vision for 2017 throughout 2016.

As you can see, it’s way more specific than my 2015 board. Get SPECIFIC guys! Here are some of the goals you see above:

  • Higher income ( 6 figures in the top left corner)
  • Self-education via gaining certifications (Books in the bottom right corner)
  • Entrepreneurship goals (Iphone with “Coach calling”)
  • Travel (Globe on the top left corner)

Write the vision…..

Let me just say this, these items on my board are God inspired. My goals came straight out of the prayer closet! I’m not hoping or wishing. I’m literally walking by faith and taking steps towards accomplishing every thing I added on my 2017 board within the next 2 years but mostly this year. Pray for God’s vision for your life.

Once you receive it…….Write the vision. See the vision. LIVE out the vision. #GoSeeDo

Did you create a vision board this year? Please share your testimonies below.
