I know God breathed on this!
I know God breathed on this!
I know God breathed on this!
Do you ever randomly hum a catchy song verse and it hits your spirit? I’ve been humming the lyrics “I know God breathed on this!” randomly throughout my day and at this point, it’s become a daily affirmation. Kanye done ministered to me with this song, “God breathed” on his new album “Donda.” I must say, it’s catchy. #OkayKanye!
I know God breathed on me!
I started this month very encouraged and ready to embrace a new season, new environment, new opportunities. With all the great things going on in my life and excitement about what’s to come, I STILL sometimes get random moments of discouragement. Who can relate? Do you ever have days when you’re extremely confident in yourself? You’re hitting goals, minding your business, staying melanated and hydrated, etc. You KNOW you’re the ISH!? However, on other days you feel like you’re not doing enough or behind on achieving certain goals. *raise hand* Go away imposter syndrome and self-doubt! Kanye’s catchy song lyric, “I know God breathed on this!” got in my spirit on one of those days and I’m glad it did. God can use anything to encourage and remind you of who you are.
What happens when God breathes?
In my opinion, the lyrics are powerful because you really have to search the scriptures to know what happens when God breathes. The first reference of God breathing is in Genesis 2:7 when he breathed life into the nostrils of Adam. Also, in 2 Timothy 3:16, it says that all scripture is “God-breathed” meaning the word of God is truly the LIVING word (check out Hebrews 4:12 and 1 Peter 1:23 also). In so many words when God breathes, life comes forth. When God breathes on your ideas, marriage, career, bank account (AYE!), relationships, LIFE will produce. Ideas will come alive, failing marriages will live, your goals will achieve whatever he purposed for it to do, and more! God is his word and his word brings LIFE.
Think about the moments where you know that you know that you know that God breathed and pushed forth something in you. A goal, a new career path, a book, an idea, etc. This time last year, I met with a brand consultant to share my vision for this blog. I picked a date for a lifestyle blog photoshoot, started sketching the idea for blog, podcast, branding and more. When the time came for me to do my photoshoot and ultimately launch my blog, EVERYTHING fell into place and came alive. I just had so much assurance that God had his hand on my ideas because everything came together. I KNEW God breathed this blog and I KNOW it’s going to be bigger than what I can imagine. Now I just keep telling myself, “I know God breathed on this! I know God breathed on this!”
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
I love this scripture Deuteronomy 31:8, “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” The part of the verse “The LORD will personally go ahead of you!” just reminds me that God has prepared and “breathed” on the paths I’m supposed to take. Be encouraged! In moments of self-doubt say these affirmations below:
I know God breathed on this!
I know God breathed on my ideas!
I know God breathed on my relationships!
I know God breathed on the opportunities coming my way!
Sincerely,
Chelsa

Chelsea, what an inspiring blog. I needed this as an affirmation that my move to another city is God leading me to a bigger and better future. Despite of the negativity from family and friends also the stress of moving after being in the same home for 36 years I have no doubt that God Breathed on me
to continue to move forward.
